DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS PLAN
Bringing aspects of all parts of the business plan into one section to outline how each sector plans to improve/evolve in future.
our services - Future plans
STRATEGY
Provide a complete sensory experience for clients
TACTIC
-
Following completing the first few projects we are planning to invest in further equipment such as the Teslasuit and Virtual Reality Treadmill - to spark further buzz around the Virtual Reality experience and maintain the influx of clients.
-
This equipment provides information on client's sensory reactions which we will record between initial and final visits.
-
We will track the difference in reactions to inform us of successful VR techniques and architectural design choices.
Use equipment to influence and improve subsequent designs
Hire out the VR studio space for extra financial support
-
Hiring out the space to other researchers that require VR technology - thus providing another financial input.
Technology - FUTURE investment
TESLASUIT
The Body Suit for Virtual Reality provides haptic feedback and capture both motion and biometrics. With real time data collection, we are able to capture emotional states and stress levels to under- stand the user’s feelings within the space designed
The Virtual Reality Glasses are not enough to fully understand the space around us, for a fully immersive experience, the body suit provides the users with sensations and senses of touch in the virtual and augmented reality.
The Tesla Suit is an example of a Virtual Reality Body Suit
VIRTUAL REALITY TREADMILL
To increase the Immersive experience for the client, a treadmill can be used.
Virtual Reality Treadmills provides a realistic experience in terms of movement in any space given. These treadmills do not limit the user’s space as the user moves around in one spot.
They work with the use of “Special Shoes” that slide back and forth, but also allows you to jump and step, picking up movement by sensors on a shock absorbing baseplate but also supporting the user when moving.
It constantly reacts to every move we make, adapting to crouch, sit etc. It is optimised to provide the optimal rotational inertia to effortlessly turn around.
Finance - FUTURE issues
Issue
Recession
Increase in energy costs
Brexit
TACTIC
We will pick up more teaching work with Cambridge university, to help maintain our income coming in and push our skills towards commercial companies who need our virtual reality software
We are heavily reliant on electricity to run our virtual reality software so we will aim to produce our own solar energy by the third year (2029) of our business, to help avoid these costs increases.
Landing out of the EU will mean that we will need to rely on our locally sourced manufacturers since there could be restrictions on trading and this will assure, we are meeting our building standards.
Increase in Interest rates
This could mean that we might have to pay more for our bank loan. If this were to happen, we would buy one less Revit license leaving more money aside initially for our loan interest. The director without a license will be able to concentrate on marketing our software to help increase our income.
Exchange rates
Inflation
This won’t affect our company until we decide to branch outside the UK as our company will be using locally sourced building materials and manufacturers.
If there is an increase in services and material cost, this may require a decrease in wages to allow for the additional expenses that will occur. However, we have a high fee charge, giving us a higher profit, giving us flexibility for higher expenses.
Increase in materials and manufacturing costs
We will source local suppliers in Cambridge, to avoid delays and transportation costs to help save money.
Marketing Development
To expand the development of Visual Rise we will be using a number of marketing strategies:
Increase growth of the Market

-
The market for Virtual Reality in Architectural is constantly growing and expected to double in the next 7 years.
-
In 2018, RIBA discussed the importance of adapting to digital technologies, which are vital to a business’ survival.
-
More clients will expect architectural firms to have access to virtual reality services in their design, meaning that more clients will be interested in the service we provide.
Location

-
Cambridge is the most efficient area for Virtual Reality Service, with not many competitors on the market allowing Visual Rise to be one of the first company to offer this service in the area.
-
It allows easy travel around the UK to take parts in conferences and expand our knowledge
-
It gives us the opportunity for a close relationship with Cambridge University, allowing for future collaborations.
-
In the future, we hope to have multiple offices around the UK, starting with London which will allow for deeper connections internationally.
Innovative Technology

-
Our company will be kept up to date with the most recent technology to ensure we deliver the best service for our clients.
-
The collaboration with Cambridge University, will allow our company to have knowledge on new innovative technologies that we can potentially use.
-
By adopting the most recent technology, our company will overcome our local competitors
Create Trust within our Brand

-
Over time we will create trust within our brand to ensure our clients are happy with our service
-
We will improve collaboration with clients, contractors and developers through efficient communication.
Social Media

-
Social media is our main priority in our company’s growth and development.
-
We offer many social media platforms to reach out to clients in hope that our following increases over time. It will allow Visual Rise to grow locally as well as globally, with new content being posted almost everyday.
-
In the future, we will pay for advertisement on social media platforms to increase our number of followers.

Lead Generation Service

-
Due to limited funds for advertisement, we hope that in the future our company will use lead generation service to pay for advertisement as it is the fastest way of reaching potential clients.
-
We will hire a company (e.g. houzz.com) who specialises in running online ads to attract more clients.
Digital Publishing

-
We hope that in the future our company will be featured in many digital publications in order to gain our company’s recognition. We hope to be featured in Dezeen, ArchDaily, Detail and Architect Magazine.
Public Events

-
Our company representatives will be attending more public conferences and public speaking events in which we will advertise our company and share our knowledge on VR in architectural design.
Collaboration with other companies

-
We will collaborate will companies locally, as well as globally. This will ensure that high-quality content is created from joint efforts.
-
Collaboration with other architectural firms will hopefully widen our audience, cut marketing costs and create a better engagement with people in the industry and potential clients.
