Technology business plan

RESEARCH

With the urgent need for developers to innovate their technology, our research is very appropriate to their needs. The client and the brief they set is the key driver to our research activities, using the technology we have, we plan to extract the information and statistics, with the client’s permission to use for research purposes. Helping Research into improving the technology that aids the creation of a fully immersive experience where improved ergonomics are involved, and all the senses work naturally.

STRATEGY

TACTIC

Research is one of the services we provide within our company, this will:

  • Broaden our market

  • Generate more revenue

Our Company have collaborated with Cambridge university to continue research on Architecture and Virtual Reality.

Our facilities and technology will collect information and statistics anonymously from our clients to use for research purposes.

Using the technology and facilities of Cambridge University’s Department of Computer Science and Technology, it will give us access to their computer laboratory where the information is used for research into improving the technology that aids the creation of a fully immersive experience where improved ergonomics are involved, and all the senses work naturally.

WEBSITE

The website should allow for seamless navigation and easy access to information.

After every update, the website manager will be going through regular Beta testing for feedback.

WEBSITE RENEWAL

The Visual Rise website is created by the Website Manager and Coordinator

STRATEGY

TACTIC

Branding

The branding of the website is renewed when it is outdated.

News

The news part of the website is renewed and updated continuously so our clients and our viewers are up to date about what we do and what is happening the the architecture world.

Projects

The projects part of the website is updated as soon as a project is complete.

The Visual Rise Website will be Current and up to date on graphics and branding, with a continuous update of our projects when completed, News on related subjects on our business

VIRTUAL REALITY

Our Aim for the future is to be able to design within Virtual Reality using the software and hardware available creating an immersive experience for the client.

The future of Virtual reality includes all the senses, not only to see and hear but also to be able to touch, smell. We want to incorporate these senses into our Virtual designs to create a fully immersive experience for the client.

With the research we produce with the help of Cambridge university, Visual Rise will continue to adapt to new challenges we encounter by extracting the statistics of how the client reacts to the spaces we design incorporating or altering designs in our future projects.

PROS

User have a personal experience in the design

CONS

High Costs

Detailed views of connections when hard to reach in real life, avoiding any overlaps

Technology is still experimental

Connects with People

Effective communication

TECHNOLOGy (current)

The Technology we use allows us to create Models and Visuals that are realistic and convincing, providing the client with an unforgettable virtual experience using our Virtual Reality Technology.

Our Company is innovative with the technology we use, keeping up to date with the software’s available. We have also looked at a ground-breaking alternative to traditional computing, Quantum Computing, that we could, in the future, implement into our daily tasks to increase efficiency.

GOOGLE CARDBOARD VR

The Google Cardboard VR can be used with any mobile device that is VR compatible. This is only a visual tool for the client to see the exterior and interior spaces of the design.

These boxes will be sent to our clients after the first stage, so they can keep on track with the design process. We will be sending regular updates with the changes of the design through our technology, keeping a constant connection with our clients.

STORAGE

We will have 2 different storage units, 1 that’s on site in our office, and 1 that is a cloud storage bases. A Storage device that is easily accessible should be available for efficiency, the cloud backs up all our information, this is so that in case of a fire or any technical difficulties in the office, our files and documents can be found on the cloud.

The Physical Storage is called an NAS Network Attached Storage, Network-attached storage (NAS) is a type of file computer storage device that provides a local-area network with file-based shared storage. This allows our directors to work in a network, sharing files among multiple computers simultaneously. The benefits of using this are:

  • Faster data access

  • Easier Administration

  • Simple Configuration

The Cloud System we will be using is DROPBOX, all our Information, data etc will be backed up onto the drive, this makes it accessible anywhere around the world, which is useful for travelling, and used for emergencies.

SOFTWARE

REVIT AND BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING

The Technological Specialists in our team will be working with Revit and Revit’s compatibility with Building Information Modelling. For our team to work more efficiently and effectively, the process of BIM is used, it can connect all AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) professionals to design, build and operate buildings and infrastructure through BIM. Using Revit, a BIM compatible software, our team creates 3D models that can include data associated with physical and functional characteristics.

Using BIM, we can have a constant connection with the engineers and contractors collaborating on models giving each person a better insight into how their work fits within the overall project, ultimately helping us in our efficiency.

When an element in the model on Revit is changed, every view is updated in the plan, section and elevation, improving our design before it is built.

Benefits of BIM:

  • Reduced Project Risks

  • Improved Timelines

  • Improved Cost saving

  • Better project outcomes

Modelling in Revit means BIM allows the user to include real products and materials that will be used, creating an accurate 3-Dimentional model that show the geometry and characteristics of the design, as well as the total cost of the project. Current websites include huge libraries of materials that can be used with the designs in BIM, allowing direct downloads to the models, saving time and working efficiently. Everything is connected with each other, this means if one aspect is modified, anything that Is dependent on it, will also change to fit its needs automatically.

The Tech specialist and the BIM Manager will be working together sharing their process and constantly altering the design through Revit and BIM.

SUSTAINABILITY

USING OUR TECHNOLOGY

The Technological Specialist and BIM Manger will be using the digitalised EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) through product data templates, this contains the environmental data and is readily accessible in BIM, as early as the feasibility study and planning stages they are able to have complete control of the compliance with regulations.

Environmental Impact Properties: Ozone Depletion, Acidification of soil and water, depletion of natural resources, energy consumption, etc can all be embedded in the model. Our Team gives a very high importance on sustainability, using BIM it makes available the data concerning replacements, refurbishments and renewals.

Social benefits on BIM: All stakeholders can take advantage of a digital document of the model, allowing constant communication eliminating any undesired surprises.

Economically, BIM also reduces the costs that can be cause by clashes, rework and miscommunications, no time is wasted in decision making.
