Demand for stand alone vr devices

what is a 'stand-alone' VR device

Standalone devices like Oculus Go, which do not require a smartphone to be inserted into the headset, are expected to drive future sales.

DEmand

The demand for Stand Alone VR Devices is increasing.

There has been a 60% decrease of sales of smartphone VR devices, this is due to the amount of issues users encounter whilst using it.

Including: the limited portability of the device and the fact that they have to connect their phones to the device whilst using it, so multi-tasking is not possible through this. Therefore the headset style equipment is more ideal as they avoid these issues.

FACTS AND FIGURES

"IDC expects much of the growth will be driven by accelerating investments from the commercial and public sectors.

The strongest spending growth over the 2019-2023 forecast period will come from the financial (133.9% CAGR) and infrastructure (122.8%) sectors, followed closely by the manufacturing and public sectors. VISUAL RISE ARCHITECTS IN VIRTUAL REALITY

The Technology Specialist of our team Froilan Palacio, visited UMC Architects to see their uses of Virtual Reality within their business.

The BIM Manager of UMC Architects deals with the 3D Visualisations, including the use of Virtual Reality.

They use the Oculus Rift to view their Revit Models on Escape in 3-Dimentions with high-end VR Ready Computers using the leading brand of Graphics Cards. Using VR means they can:

  • Render live

  • Clash detection for big Models, where the human eye couldn’t see

  • Visualise the space before it is even made

  • Fly through the site, as they have very big buildings, this is very useful for their business.

Froilan was able to use their Virtual Reality equipment and fly through one of their major designs to experience the space in VR. He used the Oculus Rift, which we will be using for our 3Dimentional visualisations in Visual Rise Architects.
